Pumpkin Planter

October 28, 2020 by Madison Leave a Comment

Are you looking for an easy fall planter craft? You have found the one! This is a beautiful planter that can be used inside of your home or outside of your home. It’s quick and easy and also doesn’t use much to make. Check out the supply list below to see what all you will need and just how easy it is to make this pumpkin planter.

Walmart is a great place to find affordable mums for this project!

Walmart also has great deals on pumpkins right now so get yours before they’re gone!

Supplies:
One pumpkin
Mum (I bought the 8 inch size) *you want these two things relatively on the same size scale*
Knife
Spoon
Pen

Directions:
Start by cutting a circle in the pumpkin to remove the stem, but be sure the circle is smaller than the pot that the mum is in. Do not make too big of a circle.

Once the stem is removed, place your mum on top of the pumpkin and center it over the hole you have made.

Take your pen and trace the bottom of the mum pot. Use the traced circle as a guide and widen your opening.

It should be wide enough now to scoop out the pumpkin guts and seeds.  (Be sure not to skip this part as it will help keep the pumpkin from going bad)

Place your mum (still in the pot) in the new opening. Once you have done this, you will have your amazing and beautiful pumpkin planter.

If your mum pot is tapered, you may have to widen the opening a little at a time until the pot fits in and is snug.

If your mum ends up sitting on the floor of the pumpkin I would recommend placing a saucer under the pot to help prevent early rotting.
