There’s a recall I wanted to let you know about right now.

According to the FDA, Burch Farms, of North Carolina, voluntarily issued a recall of its cantaloupe Wednesday due to Listeria Contamination.

These cantaloupes were sold in several states including Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.

I cannot find a comprehensive list of the stores which sold the cantaloupe, but I do know that they were sold at several Hannaford, Food Lion, and Reids Stores.  I will continue to look for any additional stores that may be included and update this post.

You can see a listing here of Food Lion and Reids stores which may have sold the recalled cantaloupe.

Read information about the Cantaloupe recall at Hannaford here.

You can read information here about the Cantaloupe Recall and find out how to tell if you have one of the recalled fruits.  According to the article: “The whole cantaloupes have a red sticker that reads: Cantaloupe PLU#4319”
