Many of you may remember back in April that tornados slammed the state of Alabama causing major death and desctruction. Many in our state lost everything they own.  There were so many communities that were hit in our state that there have been so many opportunities for others to help and serve.

One of the groups that has stepped up and helped tremendously is a group called Shoeboxes for Kids. Shoeboxes for Kids has stepped up to help with the youngest of the victims.

According to Shoeboxes for kids their goal is this:

“to restore smiles to the faces of the “littlest survivors” the children affected by the recent devastation caused by the tornadoes. We aim to meet this goal by putting a box of activities in each small set of hands that they can call their own.”

Shoeboxes for Kids has been all over the state delivering boxes to hard hit communities.  One of the hardest hit was Tuscaloosa, Alabama, but Shoeboxes for Kids doesn’t have enough boxes to deliver to Tuscaloosa as they are also the largest area hit on that day.

This is where we can help! Shoeboxes for kids needs 450 boxes to deliver to the children of Tuscaloosa.  This would be a great back to school project for the kiddos or a Sunday school class, etc.  I am asking you guys to help with this goal of 450 boxes.  If you’d like to help by donating a box or boxes here are the details:
