“Pink Slime” Ground Beef Update – Good News from Aldi’s

I have another update on the “Pink Slime” issue.  I am so thankful to all of you who are updating us here as you find out about your stores.

I will continue to update my original post with the latest as it arises.

I’ve added an update to Aldi’s from an email I received from them.  It appears these stores are listening to consumers as they should.

    i shop at food lion and bilo and would like to know if they are using the pink slime?

    I just cooked up 93% ground beef from Aldi’s and if I stuck my head down on the meat could smell the ammonia as it cooked. I have smelled this before and wondered why then when I read about the ammonia and pink slime and then it all made sense. I can’t believe they are putting ammonia into the meat.
