Ok folks, I have a little confession to make. Prior to January 1 I had not hit a drugstore for deals in what seems like forever!Â
Can you believe it? I was seeing my razor and toothpaste stockpile dwindle away so I figured I better get back to it.
So, that’s what I’ve been doing for the month of January. I’ve done 2 trips to CVS so far this month, and I am totally back into the swing of things. I cannot wait to go back this weekend!
If you haven’t dipped your toes into the drugstore deal water then you must try it out! Shopping the drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid is a GREAT way to build your stockpile for nearly nothing.  You do that by rolling ExtraBucks, Register Rewards, etc.   An easy way to get started is to buy something this week that is printing rewards/bucks and then hold on to them until next week. Then you use those bucks next week on something that’s printing bucks/rewards, and so on, and so on.
Here’s a little peek at my CVS transaction from last week to give you an idea of how it works. This wasn’t a very complicated or major transaction, but I feel great about my savings.
My CVS Shopping Trip
- When I walked into the store I had a $10 CVS Gift Card from the previous week’s gift card deal, plus I had ExtraBucks worth $2.75.
- Items Purchased:
- 2 bags of Tostitos priced at $2.50/each
- Gallon of Milk priced at $3.89
- 1 Softsoap priced at $.99
- 1 Almay I-Color priced at $5.99
- Total Cost before coupons/bucks was $15.87
- I used 1 coupon for $.40/1 on the Softsoap and one for $2/1 on the Almay
- Total After Coupons $13.47 plus $1.59/tax
- I used the $10 Gift Card and $2.75 in ExtraBucks to get my total down to only $2.31
- PLUS….I got back $4 in ExtraBucks to use next week($3 for the Almay and $1 for the milk).
I am very pleased with that as that’s less than 1 gallon of milk.
