You can certainly save the most money on groceries by using Coupons at stores like Publix, Winn Dixie, Walgreens, CVS or Target.
However, I’ve heard this question asked a few times so I thought I’d give you the run down of which dollar stores do & do not take coupons. There are a few different stores that we refer to as “The Dollar Store” so maybe this will help clarify it a little bit.
At The Dollar Tree everything in the store is $1.00. There are no price variations. Some of my favorite deals to snag at The Dollar Tree are deals on School supplies, teacher supplies, birthday party decorations, kitchen goods, some food items, etc.
The Dollar Tree DOES NOT accept coupons. Wouldn’t that make for some sweet deals if they did?Â
UPDATE: As of 8/26/2012 The Dollar Tree has announced that it will start accepting coupons. This will make for some great deals. See the Dollar Tree Coupon Policy.
While everything isn’t $1.00 at the Dollar General you can usually find some great low prices there. The Dollar General DOES TAKE COUPONS so you can use them to maximize your savings there. You can see the Dollar General Coupon Policy here, and also check out some Dollar General Coupons that they have on their site.
Also, if you sign up for the Dollar General Savings Zone you’ll get notified about upcoming sales & coupons.
There are also some really great prices to be found at the Family Dollar Store! The Family Dollar Store DOES TAKE COUPONS to make those low prices even better. The Family Dollar Coupon policy can be found here. You can also grab some Family Dollar Coupons here to save more.
Fred’s May not have “Dollar” in the name, but I’d definitely consider it the same type of discount store as the others. Fred’s DOES TAKE COUPONS. I couldn’t find an official coupon policy for Fred’s, but here’s something really cool about using coupons at Fred’s. Fred’s will double coupons up to $1.00 on Saturdays! That should make for some super nice deals! Be sure to check with your local store to make sure they participate. You can go here to see the current Fred’s ad.
